I feel like I am an avid enough protein shake maker (we need a better name for that!) to claim this is the best protein shake ever! Alright, maybe not ever but it's hands down my current favorite & on my top 10 list! The key to at home shakes is finding one you really love that you won't get of OR can make easy tweaks to it to switch it up for the week. This is because all of the ingredients are so expensive! When I first bought all the ingredients for this (all on the same day!) I though to myself "how stupid is this!? I might as well go buy an $8 shake everyday!" wrong! The initial investment is always a lot but then you're SET! For a while at least!
Just an extra lil FYI and words of encouragement, I have already passed this recipe down to a few friends and we've gotten the thumbs up from them too! Also- always buy organic when you can! It is SO MUCH BETTER FOR YOU! Yes it's more expensive, but you only have one body so you should it as best as you should to ensure a long healthy life! Rant over. NOW, lets do this...
I bought all of my ingredients at sprouts during their 25% off health department/vitamin sale! Now I order it all off amazon for cheaper! I linked them for ease.
Unsweetend Vanilla Almond Milk (I prefer Califia Farms)
Banana (I peel, then store mine in the freezer)
Frozen or Fresh Strawberries (Or blueberries)
1 cup almond milk
1/2 frozen banana
1 scoop Sun Warrior Protein Powder
1 tablespoon Cocoa Nibs
1 teaspoon Goji Berries
1 teaspoon Macqui Powder
3 Strawberries (or handful of blueberries)
1 cup of ice
I add all of the ingredients in this order and then BLEND BLEND BLEND with my Nutri Ninja (I'm a sucker for no dirty dishes - blend and drink out of the same cup!)
Note: I like my shakes to be, thick so I add extra ice & also why I freeze my fruits... it makes the consistency way better!
